Key Responsibilities:
*Provide leadership and oversight for all EMS operations, ensuring high-quality patient care
*Recruit, train and manage EMS staff, including paramedics, EMT's, and drivers
*Develop and maintain work schedules to ensure adequate 24/7 coverage
*Ensure compliance with Iowa Department of Public Health regulations, protocols and reporting requirement
*Work collaboratively with the medical director, local agencies and community partners
*Manage budgets, resources and equipment to ensure efficient operations
*Represent the service with professionalism at community and city meetings
Peferred Skills:
*Experience with rural EMS operations
*Familiarity with EMS scheduling software and electronic patient care reporting systems
*Budgeting and administrative experience
*Current Iowa Paramedic or higher-level EMS certification (required)
*Minimum of 5 years of progressive EMS experience, prior EMS leadership/management experience. preferred
*Strong knowledge of EMS protocols, regulations and best practices
*Proven ability to supervise, mentor and lead a diverse team
*Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills
*Valid Iowa driver's license and acceptable driving record
