Position Overview
The General Operations and Business Manager at 5 x 80 Country Club is responsible for managing the operational aspects of the entire facility while ensuring financial integrity and efficiency. This role requires a strong finance background and a hands-on approach to operations, alongside exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with members and the board of directors effectively.
Key Responsibilities
1. Staffing and Human Resources:
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff for the pro shop, kitchen/restaurant, and bar, ensuring a high level of service and professionalism.
- Create and manage staff schedules for bar, kitchen/restaurant (in conjunction with the Culinary Operations Manager) and pro shop to maintain optimal coverage while controlling labor costs.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing feedback, and foster staff development.
2. Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pro shop, kitchen/restaurant, bar and pool ensuring adherence to company standards, state regulations and quality service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as operational policies.
3. Financial Management:
- Handle all payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Prepare financial reports and manage budgets, insuring profitability and sustainability.
- Review financial reports, analyze trends, and provide recommendations for financial improvements.
4. Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare monthly board reports summarizing financial status, operational performance, and staffing updates for board members.
- Present financial insights and operational updates during board meetings, responding to inquiries and providing clarity as needed.
5. Member Engagement:
- Serve as a personable point of contact for club members, addressing inquiries, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and courtesy.
- Collaborate with the board of directors to align on operational strategies and enhance member satisfaction.
6. Development and Growth Strategy:
- Event Promotion:
o Develop and execute strategies to promote club events through various channels, including social media platforms.
o Create engaging content that highlights upcoming events, ensuring it resonates with our member base. - Signage Management:
o Oversee the design and placement of both indoor and outdoor signage to effectively communicate current promotions and events, enhancing visibility and member participation. - Member Communication:
o Prepare and distribute newsletters and special announcements that keep members informed about club events, services, and opportunities.
o Work collaboratively with team members to gather relevant content and updates for communication materials. - Strategic Development:
o Conduct analysis of member engagement and event participation to refine promotional strategies and improve attendance.
o Collaborate with Board of Directors & Culinary Manager to identify new opportunities for events and activities that align with member interests and club goals.
o Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans to improve operational efficiency and revenue generation.
o Analyze market trends and member feedback to identify opportunities for growth within the pro shop, restaurant, and bar
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility management, finance, or hospitality, with a proven track record of operational oversight.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software – Quickbooks or similar and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, complemented by a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Base Salary
$40,000 - $45,000 Salary (Depending on Experience)
