• Assists in the preparation/coordination of the Agency Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, as well as all disaster response, recovery and mitigation plans covering the jurisdiction.
• Maintains various databases and record keeping systems.
• Promotes partnerships with private sector/non-profit organizations.
• Maintains communications with local governments and first responder agencies throughout the jurisdiction.
• Promotes emergency management training programs.
High School diploma or GED.
Valid State of Iowa Driver’s License. EVOC training is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ training and/or experience in emergency response preferred. (Fire, EMS or Law Enforcement)
Completion or the ability to complete National Incident Management System required courses.
Must be able to meet the training requirements of Chapter 29C in the Code of Iowa within 2 years of hire date.
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Must be able to pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
