Guthrie County Deputy Sheriff Kent Gries reported a single-vehicle accident occurring on March 8 at 8:05 a.m. Amelia Rose Eddy, 15, of Bayard was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado pickup westbound on Highway 141 between Juniper Avenue and Horn Avenue. The vehicle went across a bridge, and the driver lost control and entered the north ditch and overturned. Eddy was wearing a shoulder and lap belt and was uninjured. The report stated that the collision was caused by an ice-covered bridge and that roads were otherwise only slick in spots. The report said the bridge was complete ice, and two vehicles spun out on the same bridge. No citations were issued. The vehicle was towed through private arrangements. Damage to the Chevrolet truck was estimated at $5,000.
