Summer Food Steam Fun

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in June. Guthrie Center Elementary School, 900 N. Fourth St., Guthrie Center. Steam Fun -10:30-11:15 a.m. Summer Food – 11:15-12:15 p.m. Free to all ages 1-18. No registration needed. Children 8 and younger must have adult present with them.

Springbrook Camp

June 3, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., grades K-3, $10; June 4, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., grades 4-12, $10; June 5, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., grades K-12, $10. Please bring your own sack lunches and drinks. This camp is designed for children who want to know more about nature, be interactive with others, and be filled with learning from conservationist and naturalists. 

Science of Parenting

Every family is unique, and every child has his or her own quirks. At Science of Parenting, they believe parents are experts on their family and their child(ren). They have a pluralistic approach to parenting, which means they believe there is more than one right way to raise healthy and happy kids. Their role is to share research and information with parents to help them make informed decisions for their family. On the website, parents can find trustworthy research on popular parenting topics. In the parenting trends section, parents can find recent blog posts written by specialists from Iowa.
