Guthrie County Deputy Sheriff Matt Losee reported a two-vehicle incident occurring on Sept. 7 at 6:20 p.m. in Jamaica. Deloris Lavene Smith, 84, of Panora, was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox and backed into a parked 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle and knocked it over, causing an estimated $5,000 in damage to the motorcycle. No one was on the motorcycle. The report stated that when the motorcycle owner tried to start it, the motorcycle caught on fire.
