Guthrie County Deputy Sheriff Kent Gries reported a single-vehicle accident involving property damage occurring on Jan. 18 at 12:25 a.m.  Lucio Pulido, 34, of Carroll, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound in the 1400 block of Highway 141. For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway and entered the south dich. Pulido drove through a barbed wire fence owned by White Rock Conservancy and came to a stop. The ditch and field area were full of approximately 2 feet of snow and Pulido became stuck in the snow. A winter storm was approaching, and the surface conditions and visibility conditions were rapidly changing. Therefore, it is unknown what exactly the surface conditions and visibility conditions were at the time of the accident. Deputy Sheriff Gries questioned Pulido, and he did not remember what caused him to leave the roadway.

When the Coon Rapids Police Department arrived on scene, the Pulido was asleep or passed out in the driver’s seat. Deputy Sheriff Gries observed numerous open containers of beer in the vehicle. Pulido was processed for impaired driving, and a breath test was obtained with a reading of. 166 BrAC. Numerous charges were filed in this matter. Damage to the Tahoe is estimated at $1,500. Damage to the fence is estimated at $1,000.
