ACGC Speech and Theatre received the following recognition from the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards (IHSMTA) for its production of “Tuck Everlasting”, which was presented April 26-28 at ACGC High School.
- Distinguished Scene: “Story of the Tucks”
- Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role: Andrew Mahaffey as “Jesse Tuck”
- Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role: Haedyn Grasty as “Mae Tuck”
Andrew Mahaffey has been invited to perform an excerpt from his role, as well as will participate in the Triple Threat Awards Program in the weeks leading up to the Showcase.
Carter Dinkla and Tanner Downing will be performing in a collaborative inter-school medley during the Finale number at the Showcase.
Tickets to the Showcase, which start at $15, will go on sale on Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m. at DMPA.org, the Des Moines Civic Center Ticket Office, and by phone at 515-246-2300.
The Awards Showcase will be live-streamed at IowaPBS.org as part of a collaboration with Iowa PBS. Iowa PBS will also broadcast a highlights special of the event later this summer on dates to be announced.
