Mark your calendars for July 2 starting at 11 a.m. and join Whiterock Conservancy for lunch with a food truck on site for this all-ages event
Paint the Park, with international award-winning songwriter and accomplished painter Chad Elliott, will feature a live concert and real-time painting inspired by Whiterock.
“I’m a fan of Iowa’s landscape. It’s a part of me,” Elliott said. “I can’t wait to visit Iowa’s parks to create art inspired by them. It’s a small way for me to support Iowa’s natural spaces, and I’m eager to get started.”
Elliott will visit Whiterock Conservancy and be set up on the west lawn near the ponds at the Garst Historic Farmstead and create a painting and perform a live concert for all to enjoy. The public is encouraged to watch Elliott’s art process while he is painting.
The event is free. Food will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Live Painting Event begins at 1 p.m.
