ACGC (9-0) blanked Wayne at home on Friday, Oct. 25 in Class A first-round playoffs. Jathan South went 3/4 in the air with 55 yards. The Chargers spread out the rushing attack. Mike Fuller led with 18 carries for 92 yards and one TD. Joe Crawford had 10 carries for 77 yards. South contributed 10 carries for 50 yards and two TDs. Brexton Schneider also had seven carries for 43 yards and one TD. South’s completions went to three different receivers: one to Crawford for 30 yards, one to Thomas Skram for 20 yards and one to Payton Policky for 5 yards. The shutout defense was led by Ben Franzeen, who recorded 11 total tackles and one tackle for loss. Jackson Pfrang got comfortable in the Wayne backfield with three tackles for losses. Xander Harwood had an interception. The win takes ACGC into the second round where they will face Mount Ayr at home on Friday, Nov. 1. ACGC won the matchup between the two this season, 40-14. The Chargers will try to hold Mount Ayr’s Jackson Ruggles in check. The junior quarterback has 847 yards passing, 522 yards rushing and 20 total TDs.
