The Panorama boys track and field team hit the blocks for the first time this season in Storm Lake at the BVU High School Elite Meet on Monday, March 24. Team scores were not kept for this meet.

Panorama Head Coach Bruce Dahlhauser was impressed with what he saw from his squad in its first competition of the season.

“We had a solid first meet. It was awesome to see our kids compete in an environment where it mattered more than reps in practice,” Dahlhauser said. “The effort was very high in all of our events. Not one time did we look back at a performance and question whether they did their best. We were able to establish some baselines which we can use to mark progress and set goals moving forward. We left the meet very proud of our guys and the effort they gave. We got better. It was also a great opportunity for our guys to bond and build some camaraderie. We were able to spend 12 hours together, and we saw some great things happening within the culture of our team.”

The competition served as a good test for the boys before they face conference opponents at their next meet on Tuesday, April 1, at the Earlham Early Bird meet at Earlham High School. Panorama will compete against ACGC, ADM, Earlham, Greene County, Madrid, Mount Ayr, Perry, St. Edmond, Treynor, Van Meter, Wayne and West Central Valley.
