Cribbage results from April 26

On April 26, a total of 12 players participated. Right off the bat, Dave Richter showed a 24 hand. Bill Sheeder got a 16 and an 18, and Joanne Zieser got a 16. It looked like Clint Malbon was going to get a 16, but he said it was in the crib.

On April 29, a total of 15 players participated. The winners with a 16 were Dave Kading, Joanne Zieser and Robert Klever.

The Guthrie Center cribbage players meet at Guthrie Center Library on Mondays at 8 a.m., at the assisted living rec room at 8 a.m. on Wednesdays, and at the Guthrie Center Activity Center at 1 p.m. on Fridays. Organizers say there is always room for more, and they will be glad to teach you how to play. They play for quarters on Wednesday and Friday. For more information, email 58chevy@netins.net.

Charger girls finish sixth at Audubon, take second at home

The Chargers finished sixth at the girls track and field meet at Audubon Tuesday, April 23. The girls garnered 65 points, coming in behind the host school, which had 76.5 points. Tri-Center captured first with 114 points. Ava Campbell highlighted for ACGC with a first-place finish in the 800-meter run.

The girls finished second in their home meet April 25 with 127 points. IKM-Manning took first with 175. Audubon came in behind ACGC with 120 point. Ava Campbell again nabbed a first place finish in the 800-meter run and added a first place in the 1500-meter run. The 1600 medley relay also took first. Cadence Peterson also highlighted as the top finisher in the 400-meter hurdles.

The Chargers dominated at the boys track and field meet at Audubon Tuesday, April 23, finishing with 117 points, followed closely by Underwood, 112, and Clarinda, 107. In the 3200-meter run, Charger Andrew Mahaffey captured first. Treyton Schneider led the high jump.

The boys captured first place at their home meet on April 25 with a slew of first-place events: 4×100 meter relay, 800 medley relay, 400-meter hurdles: Tate Fever; and discus: Mason Wahl. ACGC accumulated 117 points, followed by Underwood, 112.
