Guthrie County Fair kicks off!

The Guthrie County Fair runs Aug. 28 through Sept. 1. Admission price is $15 for a day pass or $35 for a weekend pass. The schedule in the grandstand for tonight, Aug. 29, includes the following:

  • 5:30 p.m., register for Mutton Busting. Waiver must be signed.
  • 7 p.m., Grand River Rodeo. Free grandstand admission. No coolers may be carried in.

Panorama boys cross country places 10th at Southeast Valley Invite

The Panorama boys cross country team traveled for the Southeast Valley Invite on Thursday, Aug. 28. Panorama placed 10th, scoring 218 points. East Sac County won the meet with 48. Panorama’s best runner on the day was Bladyn Wearmouth, who placed 29th in 20:22.71. Right behind him was Zach Hayden, who placed 30th in 20:24.03. Adrian Leone placed 45th in 21:09.62. Cruz Stanley placed 54th in 21:34.40. Bennett Allen placed 60th in 22:10.67. Braden Bahrenfuss placed 107th in 25:40.38. Graysen Shaffer placed 128th in 28:13.86.

Panorama’s next meet is the Madrid cross country meet on Thursday, Sept. 4. Panorama will compete against Madrid, Woodward Academy, Woodward-Granger, Perry, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Colo-Nesco, Ogden and BGM.

Panther girls cross country places 5th at Southeast Valley invite

The Panorama girls cross country team placed fifth, scoring 122 points at the Southeast Valley Invite on Thursday, Aug. 28. Madrid won the meet with 41. Laicey Lutz had the best Panther time, finishing 13th in 23:08.21. Olivia Beaudet placed 24th in 24:39.74. Corrie Knapp placed 31st in 25:17.71. Nella Rivas placed 35th in 25:31.62. Alyssa Stanley placed 63rd in 29:47.67. Rhaica Spencer placed 65th in 30:11.46.

Panorama competes in the Madrid cross country meet on Thursday, Sept. 4. Other teams at the event will be Perry, Woodward Academy, Madrid, Ogden, Colo-Nesco, Boone, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Woodward-Granger and BGM.

Panorama volleyball loses to Coon Rapids-Bayard, 2-0

Panorama volleyball (0-2) lost away from home against Coon Rapids-Bayard (1-0), 2-0. The Crusaders won the sets, 25-10 and 25-18. The Panthers next game will be its first at home when Panorama takes on Madrid (0-1) on Tuesday, Sept. 2. The overall series between the two schools is close with Madrid leading 12-11 all time. However, Panorama has dominated in recent years, winning the last five in a row and nine of the last 11. Panorama won both contests last season, 3-0 and 2-0.
