Veterans Day Soup Supper Nov. 11

The Omar B. Shearer American Legion Post No. 124 welcomes the public to the soup supper 5-7 p.m. at the Guthrie Center American Legion Hall (507 State St.). Oyster stew and chili will be available. Veterans eat free, others by freewill donation. Carryouts are available.

Panora Christmas Lighting Set-up Nov. 13

At 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, helpers are needed to hang lights at the Panora town square.

Veterans Breakfast Nov. 15

The Captain’s Pick (5071 Ridge Road, Panora) will hold a freewill donation Veterans Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 15, 8-11 a.m. Proceeds will go to VFW Post 5510 and American Legion Post 372.

Holiday Cruise Nov. 15

The annual “A Giving Christmas Holiday Cruise” is set for Saturday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. beginning at The Captain’s Pick (5071 Ridge Road, Panora). Decorated golf carts, ATVs, Jeeps, etc. will line up beginning at 5:30 p.m., before cruising the roads of Lake Panorama. Freewill donations are encouraged to help A Giving Christmas make the season bright for local families. Potato Bar and Bake Sale Nov. 20 in Guthrie Center

The Guthrie County Hospital Auxiliary’s Potato Bar and Bake Sale will be Thursday, Nov. 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Guthrie Activity Center, 209 State St. Carryouts are available. The potato bar meal will be offered for a freewill donation.

Happy Trails for Coffman and Lake

On Monday, Nov. 24, The New Homestead (2306 State St. in Guthrie Center) will hold a “Happy Trails” retirement party for longtime staff members Deb Coffman and Don Lake. The event will be 2-4 p.m., and the public is welcome.

Santa visits Panora Nov. 26

On Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 5:30 p.m., Santa Claus will be at the Panora town square and gazebo to see the lighted decorations at the town square and to start spreading holiday cheer.

Turkey Trot Nov. 27 in Panora

Reshape Fitness Studio’s sixth annual Turkey Trot 3-mile walk/run will be held on Thanksgiving morning at 7:30 a.m. The event will be held at Twin Vines (2821 Highway 44) and the all-terrain course offers panoramic views of Guthrie County. Registration costs $35 through Oct. 31. After that, registration costs $40 through Nov. 22. After that, registration will cost $45. Pre-registered entrants will receive turkey swag. Panora Boutique Nov. 29

The 48th annual Panora Holiday Boutique will be Saturday, Nov. 29, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Panora Community Center. More than 50 vendors and craters are expected.

Holiday baskets auction Dec. 5 in Guthrie Center

On Friday, Dec. 5, a silent auction fundraiser will be held at The New Homestead (2306 State St.). Bidding will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Basket donations will be accepted through Nov. 17.

Breakfast with Santa in Panora Dec. 6

On Saturday, Dec. 6 from 8:30-11 a.m., a freewill donation pancake breakfast will be held at the Panora Community Center (115 W. Main). The Camp Candycane craft event will be 9-10:30 a.m.

 

Redfield Winterfest Dec. 6

Celebrate winter in Redfield on Dec. 6 at West Central Valley Middle School. A craft fair, silent auction and cookie walk run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids shop for free from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Santa visits at 1 p.m. Then head over to Legion Hall and City Park for the lighting. The chili competition drop-off is at 3:30 p.m. with the judging beginning at 4 p.m. The tree and holiday display and lighting of the park occurs at 5 p.m. The chili feed runs from 5-7 p.m. for a free will donation. At 6:30 p.m., the silent auction ends. At 7 p.m., the lighted parade begins.
