Guthrie County Deputy Sheriff Kent Gries reported a two-vehicle accident occurring on Dec. 6 at 2:27 p.m. on Frost Trail. Ezequiel Rosario Pena, 42, of Huxley, was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Express G4500 cargo van northeast bound on Frost Trail and collided mirrors with a 2010 Ford F250 Super Duty Pickup headed southwest bound driven by Thomas Jesse Crawley, 71, of Guthrie Center. The two vehicles appeared to meet in the middle of the road, and both of their driver’s door rear view mirrors collided with each other. Both mirrors were destroyed. No injuries. Crawley stated that Rosario Pena was over the center of the road. Rosario Pena denies this. Dash camera footage from the cargo van shows that both vehicles should have been driving slower given the snow-covered roads and limited visibility from the curve. Video was inconclusive as to who was more toward the center of the road. Estimated damage to each vehicle is $1,000.
