The ACGC boys cross country team placed 10th with 224 points at the 1A state championship cross country meet on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge. Lake Mills won the state title with 88 points. Gavin Grunhovd of North Iowa Buffalo Center placed first overall in 15:57.5.
“It was a great way to end a great season from our kids. Since May, they have been working really hard to get to this moment, and it is cool to see their training pay off,” Head Coach Rick Blake said.
Gavin Sloss had the highest finish for the Chargers. He placed 46th in 17:24.0. Preston Kent was a few seconds behind him, placing 51st in 17:26.5. Noah Kading finished 75th in 17:46.0, a personal record. Tate Fever finished 99th in 18:09.3, a season-best. Jonny Kading placed 108th in 18:20.4, a personal record. Brody Beeler placed 117th in 18:39.5, a personal record. Jameson Pfrang rounded out the ACGC performance placing 152nd in 20:08.3, a personal record.
Sloss and Kent were also named WCAC Second Team All-Conference.
