Get ready to clear up some space inside the ACGC trophy cabinet. The Charger boys track and field team has the potential to bring home a haul of hardware from the IHSAA track and field state championship meet at Drake Stadium between May 16-18.
Individually, Eli Madsen qualified for the 200-meter dash. Andrew Mahaffey will be competing in the 1600- and 3200-meter runs. Brexton Schneider and Treyton Schneider will be on the track together during the 110-meter hurdles. Lance Bunde aims to continue his season-long dominance in the high jump, and Mike Fuller will compete in discus.
The ACGC relay teams will also be well represented on the blue track. Joe Crawford, Bunde, Anthony Solorzano and Madsen make up the 4×100- and 4×200- meter relay teams competing. Luke Brincks, Bunde, Jarrett McClain and Madsen round out the 4×400 meter relay group. McClain, Easton Stringham, Mahaffey and Gavin Sloss will compete as part of the 4×800 meter relay squad. Crawford, Solorzano, Brincks and McClain will also make up the distance medley team. Last, but certainly not least, Jathan South, Tate Fever and both Schneiders comprise the 4×110 shuttle hurdle relay team.
