The ACGC volleyball team fell to West Central Activities Conference foe Woodward-Granger 2-1 Oct. 14 in the WCAC tournament at Des Moines Christian. The Chargers suffered a second 2-1 loss, this time against Des Moines Christian (14-23) in the following match.
Against W-G (21-14), the Chargers lost the first set, 25-13, then won the second in a 25-21 battle before falling, 15-11, in the third set. Senior Becca Littler led the way for the Chargers with 28 assists. Stella Largent was credited with five kills, and Ilana Baumert posted 10 digs.
ACGC jumped out to a 1-0 lead against Des Moines Christian with a 25-20 win in the opening set. The Lions came back to win the next two sets, 25-13 and 15-11. Littler notched 21 assists and Largent five kills. Baumert led the team in digs with 16, and Nora Langaard had two blocks.
The Chargers (19-9) take to the court Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Woodward-Granger tournament, which includes Madrid, South Central Calhoun, Colfax-Mingo, West Central Valley, Boone, ACGC and Perry, starting at 8:30 a.m.
