The ACGC girls cross country team placed 11th with 232 points at the 1A state championship cross country meet at the Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge on Saturday, Nov. 2. Earlham won the meet with 91 points. Lili Denton of St. Albert Council Bluffs placed first overall in 17:59.3.

“I am really proud of both these groups for staying with it and getting better all season. I am especially proud of the seniors because they have been doing this for their high school careers,” Head Coach Rick Blake said. “They’ve given a lot to this program, and they have helped it achieve a lot of success over the past four years.”

Ava Campbell had ACGC’s highest finish, placing 28th in 20:08.6. This earned her a place on the All-State Second Team. Cadence Peterson placed 84th in 21:39.9. Jayla Hoover was just behind her finishing 85th in 21:40.5, a personal record. Adalyn Benson placed 92nd in 21:55.2, a season-best. Paige Van Meter placed 129th in 23:28.2, a season-best. Emmarae Ellis placed 132nd in 23:38.0, a personal record. Lillie Lauzon placed 141st in 24:21.5.

Campbell made First Team All-Conference along with her Second Team All-State performance.
