After Monday’s game against Atlantic was canceled due to poor field conditions, Panorama baseball (10-15) played its senior night game against Southwest Valley (9-15), winning 8-1 on Wednesday, July 3. Panorama took an early 4-1 lead at the end of the first inning. The Panthers tacked on three more runs in the third and one more in the sixth to get to the final score. RBIs came from Joel Cooper, with two, and Braylon Dawes, Hunter Dishman, Brayden Galvan, Bryce Dawes and Mason Carstens, each with one. It was pitching by committee for Panorama. Three Panthers hit the mound during the game. Dishman pitched four innings, earning the win. Galvan pitched two innings, striking out one batter. Carstens’ one inning of work was quick, only throwing six pitches and allowing zero hits. It’s now time for the postseason for Panorama. On Saturday, July 6, Panorama plays against Ankeny Christian (15-8) in Urbandale, at Northview Park in the first round of 1A substate.
