Charger girls cross country travel today

The ACGC girls cross country team will compete in a field of 12 schools at Dallas Center Grimes Middle School today, Tuesday, Sept. 3. The girls kicked off the regular season with a third-place finish at the Southeast Valley invite last week.

The Chargers boys cross country team competes in a field of 12 schools at Dallas Center Grimes Middle School today, Tuesday, Sept. 3. The boys are coming off a first-place finish last week at the Southeast Valley meet.

ACGC volleyball faces Pleasantville tonight

ACGC (0-1) volleyball plays at home tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 3 against Pleasantville (2-1). The girls are coming off a loss last week to No. 13 Van Meter.

Panther football a TD short at home against WCV

Panorama football started its season Aug. 30 with a loss (28-21) against West Central Valley at home. The teams traded off touchdowns in each quarter except the second, when Panorama failed to reach the endzone. AJ Draper scored twice as he led the team in rushing yards with 85 of the team’s total 214. Gavin Lindstrom completed nine of 13 pass attempts under center for 67 yards. Brayden Meinecke was at the receiving end of four of those passes to lead the team with 32 of its 79 receiving yards. On defense, Gabe Wagner led the Panthers with 6.5 tackles of its 34 total. The defense nabbed one interception and recovered a fumble. Panorama’s TDs all came in the rushing game and were followed by successful PATs. Panora (0-1) travels to IKM-Manning (1-0) Friday, Sept. 6.

Panther girls cross country join 9-team field Sept. 5

The Panorama girls cross country team will travel Thursday, Sept. 5 to participate in a nine-team meet hosted by Madrid at Grant’s Woods Park. They are coming off a fourth-place finish last week at the Southeast Valley meet.
