BUILDING BOOM CONTINUES. Ground was broken for the Clover Ridge Conference Center, located in the middle of the front nine at the Lake Panorama National Golf Course. The conference center will be nearly 16,000 square feet and will be 2½ stories with an outdoor swimming pool. In the background is the Clover Ridge townhouse development. The conference center is located southwest of number one green.

RAT ROD. Shawn Baker owns and is restoring this 1955 Cadillac that was originally a hearse and then converted to a camper. Most of the mechanical work is done and he’s ready to start on the car’s body. It’s referred to as a “rat rod.”

MONEY FOR MONTEITH MOVE. Doug Hemphill, president of the Farmer’s State Bank of Yale, presented a $200 check to Betty Fox, a board member of The Turn of the Century Museum. The museum is accepting donations for the relocation and restoration of the Monteith Store. To date, $4,622 has been raised of the projected $10,000 costs.

THE HOME OF CORN-N-CLOVER. The old Farmers Co-op Creamery, which has manufactured butter at this location since 1917, will close its doors Saturday, June 29. Once one of the largest butter makers in the United States, the creamery, owned by Seymour Foods, is closing because its profits have been stripped away.
