TREE ROOTS IN SEWER LINES? Tree limbs obstructing phone lines is not unusual, but tree roots in sewer lines is another story. Guthrie Center City Maintenance Coordinator Bob Secoy loads sections of tree roots dug out of a 15-inch sewer main on South Seventh Street. The roots, drawn by the moisture in the sewer line, plugged the line, causing a sewage back-up in the basements of local residents.
