RACCOON VALLEY SNOW CHASERS CLUB GETS UPDATED TRAIL GROOMER. The Raccoon Valley Snow Chasers (RVSC) snowmobile club in early March obtained an updated trail groomer and drag unit. The groomer is a 1998 Tucker with a 116-horsepower engine and has approximately 1,000 hours of running time. The drag is 18 feet long and about 8 feet wide.

HECKMAN 2ND IN ALL-STATE BOWLING. Travis Heckman, a freshman at Guthrie Center High School, placed second in the State High School Bowling Tournament Saturday at Cedar Rapids. Heckman bowled a 679 scratch series, rolling games of 252, 225 and 202.

When Kelly’s dad, Jim, isn’t around, Daisy is a permanent fixture in the barber chair at Woodvine’s Service Station near the Linden corner.

It recognizes excellence in leadership and passion for economic development in Midwest Partnership’s 4-county region. Also pictured is Andy Randol, Panora Telco manager, who nominated Grotjohn. Active in a number of activities and organizations through the years, Grotjohn now serves on the TELCO and Lake Panorama RIZ boards.

NEW CT SCANNER. Kevin Fister, radiology technologist at Guthrie County Hospital, introduces highly advanced X-ray technology now available at the hospital. The CT (computerized tomography) scanner takes four pictures in one-half of a second while greatly improving clarity and precision of information.
