Panorama girls defeat Ankeny Christian, 47-36

The Panorama girls basketball team (4-10) picked up away win against Ankeny Christian (6-7) on Monday, Jan. 19. Panorama jumped out to an early lead and went into halftime up, 20-16. Panorama continued to impress in the second half, outscoring A-C, 27-20 to give the Panthers the win.

Panorama’s next game is at home against West Central Valley, tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 20. It will be senior night for Panorama, who has already beat the Wildcats once this season, 44-36.

Panorama girls falter to Van Meter, 69-44

The Panorama girls basketball team (3-10) lost at home to Van Meter (7-5) on Friday, Jan. 16. Ashley Crees led the team in points with 11 and rebounds with six. Morgan Crees joined her in double figures with 10, as well as six rebounds and four steals.

Walker and Waltz win championships, Panther girls place 4that WCAC Tournament

The Panorama girls wrestling team hosted the West Central Activities Conference meet on Saturday, Jan. 17. Panorama would place fourth overall and leave the meet with two champions. Emma Walker (170) defeated Ellie Hutton Interstate 35 to win her title. Natalie Waltz (105) won over Gabby Osmundson of Woodward-Granger to win her championship. Cadence Petersen (115) had the next best placement for Panorama, placing third.

Panorama’s next competition is tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Madrid. Panorama will have duals against South Central Calhoun and Woodward-Granger.

Schwartz and Hansen win championships, Panorama boys place 5th at WCAC Tournament

Two Panthers won championships at the West Central Activities Conference Tournament hosted by Panorama on Saturday, Jan. 17. As a squad, Panorama placed fifth with 98.5 points. Woodward-Granger won the meet overall with 228.5. Panther champions were Sam Hansen (106), who defeated Ryker Anderson of Interstate 35 to claim his title; and Blake Schwartz (165) defeated Will Atkinson of Woodward-Granger to win his division. The next best Panther placement came from Syler Shaffer (126), who placed third.

Panorama’s next competition is tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Colfax-Mingo. Panorama will have duals against Colfax-Mingo, CAM and Harlan Community.

ACGC boys secure win over CAM, 69-54

The ACGC boys basketball team (4-8) defeated CAM (4-7) at home on Monday, Jan. 19. Box score and individual stats were not available as of press time. ACGC will look to build on the positive momentum tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 20, against Ogden (4-11). ACGC has a 63-50 win over Ogden earlier this season.

Charger boys fall to Earlham, 61-43

The ACGC boys basketball team (3-8) lost its home game against Earlham (9-5) on Friday, Jan. 16. ACGC held a 24-21 lead going into halftime, but Earlham would eventually pull away with a strong second-half performance. Two Chargers hit double-figure scoring. Thomas Skram led with 19 points. Joe Crawford added 16 points, also leading in rebounds with five. Preston Kent led in assists with four.
