The year 2026 has been our busiest year yet, jam packed with a variety of activities.

Kids had a great time with the educational programs provided by Adair County ISU Extension and Conservation Offices, Dr. Oxygen’s science, tricks and explosions, and Jeff Quinn’s Farm Magic Show.

An especially big hit was our stuffed animal building workshop where kids got to pick from five choices of North American animals to celebrate our country’s 250^th birthday, including story time, a craft, and stuffing and naming their animal, topped off with its very own birth certificate. 

Adults loved our Iowa Prohibition bootlegger talk by Ann Hanigan Kotz, a talk from Liz Garst on Corn and Khrushchev, and Exira Floral Supply’s floral workshop.

Friends of the Adair Library contributed funds to make the programs affordable for everyone. Total attendance for our many programs was almost 400 kids and adults. Thank you to everyone who participated, especially Boys and Girls Club –– who transported kids to the library –– and board members who helped make each program a success.
