SANTA MAKER. Tom Jeschke has been carving wooden Santas for some 20 years, and the Lake Panorama resident said he has done several that will be under the tree for local residents on Christmas morning this year.

BLUE OUT NIGHT. Panorama held a “Blue Out Night” during basketball games with Guthrie Center on Dec. 12 as the junior class honored classmate Dominic Higgins, who lost his battle with muscular dystrophy last year. Panther fans dressed in blue, many in DOMinate T-shirts to show their support in memory of Dominic.

TWISTED” SANTAS. Last weekend in Casey was the scene of a packed Community Building where the “Better Keep Our Day Jobs” players put on the fourth annual dinner theater production of “Twas With A Twist.” The hilarious musical included many local talents including Barry Orness, left, of Casey playing the “real” Santa and Pete Fay, right, of Adair, who played Ezra “Pa” Inniscap and the “fake” Santa. Some other cast members included Gretchen Umbaugh (“Ma” Inniscap), Rita Elgin (Magic Myrtle), Jade Weber (Betsy Inniscap), all of Adair, Kayla Plagman (Sam Neer), Jeannie Larson (Mrs. Claus), Pat Pettinger (The Mouse), Shawna Tuffin (Babs Inniscap), Steven Tuffin (Mop Top), all of Casey, and a host of elves and Sugar Plum Fairies. The group also puts on a variety show each spring.

MURAL PAINTER. Mike Rosenbeck, a senior art student, applies highlighting to make a horse’s head stand out on a desert mural Guthrie Center art students are painting at the Jaycee Community Hall. Students from Phil Pryzchodzin’s art classes have spent three hours a day for the last week and a half painting the mural requested by the Jaycees. The mural painting has added a new dimension to the art program at the Guthrie Center school.

TURKEY MEAL. Sixty individuals and families that are in need will be able to enjoy a full turkey meal this Thanksgiving due to the efforts of Faith Bible Church and the local Food Pantry, who were able to purchase 60 bags of food items to make a Thanksgiving meal. The Panorama FEA and FCCLA chapters helped assemble the bags and bring them to the church. Panora Hometown Foods ordered the food. Helping assemble the bags were (from left) Brody Steenblock, Arilyan Steenblock, Joselyn Carrillo, Dezirae Klinkefus, Savana Mobley, Shayna Elliott and Gianluca Sigismondi.
