Guthrie County Chier Deputy Todd Thorn reported a two-vehicle accident occurring on Oct. 13 at 3:30 p.m. on Highway 4. Leah Raye Kastner, 15, of Yale, was driving a 2012 Nissan Murano northbound on Highway 4 and rear-ended a 2020 Lexus RX 350 driven by Margaret Louise Marble, 68, of Panora. The report stated that Kastner’s foot became stuck between the gas and brake pedal, and she was unable to maintain control of the vehicle. Damage to the Nissan is estimated at $5,000 while damage to the Lexus is estimated at $3,000. Kastner was charged with failure to maintain control.
