The No. 3 ACGC football team (6-0) defeated Central Decatur (2-4) with a dominating performance on both sides of the ball. This game was over quickly, with ACGC jumping out to 35-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. ACGC would only rush for 164 yards in the game, a far cry from its 305 rushing yards per game average. Even so, the Chargers still scored five rushing touchdowns. ACGC’s defense recovered two fumbles, one for a touchdown by Xander Harwood, the other by Ryan Martens. The Chargers also intercepted three passes, one for a touchdown by Brexton Schnieder, the others by Ryder Cline and Harwood.
Joe Crawford led the Chargers in rushing yards with 83 on six carries for one TD. Cline scored on his one carry for seven yards. Schneider reached the endzone twice on offense on eight carries for 35 yards. Thomas Skram also scored once on four carries for 18 yards. Brandon Carlson was a force on defense with two sacks.
ACGC’s next game is at AHSTW (3-3) on Friday, Oct. 10. The Vikings have won all four games between the schools, with the most recent game being played in 2017, a 36-0 win for AHSTW.
