No. 7 ACGC boys basketball (6-0) earned a ranked win over No. 8 Des Moines Christian (7-2) during their home game on Tuesday, Jan. 7. The Chargers’ victory was spearheaded by Jathan South who scored more than half of ACGC’s points. His 35-point game came on 10/15 shooting from the field and 14/20 from the free throw line. South made more free throws than Des Moines Christian attempted the entire game. Payton Policky also had his fingerprints on this one. Policky had 10 points and 13 rebounds to complete the double-double. ACGC will have its toughest test yet tonight, Jan. 10, when it hosts No. 2 Madrid (10-0). Madrid has dominated its opponents so far this season, winning games on average by 38 points. Something will have to give when these two undefeated teams meet on Friday night. ACGC will play in back-to-back nights, hosting Exira-EHK (2-5) on Saturday, Jan. 11.
