Chargers win 2 duals, lose 1 at Pleasantville quadrangular

ACGC boys wrestling traveled to Pleasantville High School to compete in a quadrangular meet against host Pleasantville, Central Decatur and Earlham on Tuesday, Dec. 17. ACGC won its duals against Central Decatur, 40-39, and Earlham, 36-27, and lost to Pleasantville, 37-33.

Chargers host Panorama in WCAC clash

ACGC boys basketball (4-0) hopes to continue its hot start when they host Panorama (1-6) at home, tonight, Dec. 20. The two teams have battled back and forth in recent meetings. In the last 10 matchups between the two, the series is tied, 5-5, with Panorama getting the best of ACGC twice last season. Both games were decided by single digits. The Chargers will look to keep getting sparks from their stars. Jathan South is averaging 23.2 points per game, 17th highest in 1A and second-highest in the West Central Activities Conference. Teammate Payton Policky is averaging 15 points per game, his 12.8 rebounds are 14th highest in the state and highest in the WCAC in rebounds per game, with 12.8. Noah Kading’s 6.8 assists is the sixth highest in 1A and leads the WCAC.

Panthers take third at WCAC meet, Walker and Klingenberg win weight classes

Panorama girls wrestling traveled to Woodward-Granger High School for the West Central Activities Conference meet on Thursday, Dec. 19. Teams competing at the tournament were Woodward-Granger, Interstate 35, Ogden, ACGC, Pleasantville, West Central Valley and Earlham. Panorama finished third overall at the meet, with two champions. Emma Walker (170) and Hali Klingenberg (235) won their respective weight classes. The Panthers will have a break in competition and will not return to the mat until they host the Panorama Girls Varsity Tournament on Jan. 7.

Panorama boys wrestling traveled to Ogden for a quadrangular meet against ACGC, Ogden and Southeast Valley on Thursday, Dec. 19. Panorama won its dual against Southeast Valley, 48-30, and lost its duals against Ogden, 44-32, and ACGC, 46-33. Panorama’s next competition will be the Trojan Duals on Saturday, Dec. 21. Other teams at the competitions will be Albia, Colfax-Mingo, Pleasantville, Van Meter, West Central Valley and Williamsburg.

Panthers lose close game with West Central Valley, 55-48

Panorama boys basketball (1-6) hosted West Central Valley (2-4) on Thursday, Dec. 19. The game was close, but Panorama’s losing streak continues. They will have the chance to stop the skid when they travel to ACGC (4-0) tonight, Dec. 20. The game has been a back-and-forth contest between the programs in recent years. In the last 10 games dating back to 2020, the series is tied, 5-5. Panorama won both of their games against the Chargers last season by slim margins, 63-59 and 67-62. After that, the Panthers return to the court after the holidays when they host Pleasantville (2-2) on Jan. 3.
