Kading, South, Policky named to All-Substate 8 Tournament Team

ACGC boys basketball had three players earn All-Substate 8 honors: Noah Kading, Jathan South and Payton Policky. ACGC made it to the substate final this season, defeating Exira-EHK, 78-45; Audubon, 57-32; IKM-Manning, 83-56; and eventually falling to Remsen St. Mary’s, 57-49 in the final. The trio of seniors were integral to the team’s success this season. In each of those four games, South led the team in points, Policky led the team in rebounds, and in all but the final, Kading led the team in assists.

Charger boys start season with win at IATC Indoor Championships

The ACGC boys track team placed first at the 1A IATC Indoor Championships in Ames on Thursday, March 13. ACGC scored 59.5 points. The next closest school to the Chargers was Riverside, Oakland with 44. ACGC won the 4×100 meter relay and shuttle hurdle. The boys did not have an individual first-place winner but had two top-three finishes. Brexton Schneider placed second in the 60-meter hurdles. Eli Madsen placed second in the 400 meter.

  • 60-meter dash: Kade Sorensen placed eighth in 7.34
  • 60-meter hurdles: Brexton Schneider placed second in 8.54
    Tate Fever placed fifth in 8.63
  • 400-meter dash: Eli Madsen placed second in 50.42
    Dean Vela placed ninth in 52.87
  • 800-meter run: Gavin Sloss placed seventh in 2:09:21
    Cole Van Meter placed 27th in 2:27.42
  • 3200-meter run: Preston Kent placed 13th in 11:21.88
  • High jump: Jathan South placed sixth clearing 5-09
  • Shot put: Mike Fuller placed fourth throwing 48-02
    Mason Wahl placed 12th throwing 41-03.75
    Jack Sheeder placed 27th throwing 36-11
  • 4×100-meter relay: Joe Crawford, Kade Sorensen, Brexton Schneider and Eli Madsen placed first in 44.14
  • Shuttle hurdle: Tate Fever, Jathan South, Morgun Nolte and Brexton Schneider placed first in 34.23
  • 4×400-meter relay: Dean Vela, Tate Fever, Luke Brincks and Eli Madsen placed third in 3:34.165
  • 4×800-meter relay: Jonny Kading, Brody Beeler, Cole Van Meter and Lane Stringer placed 13th in 9:42.44
  • Distance medley: Joe Crawford, Kade Sorensen, Luke Brincks and Gavin Sloss placed sixth in 3:48.71

Panther girls compete today at IATC Indoor Championships

The Panorama girls track and field team will hit the track early this season when the team competes at the 2025 2A Girls IATC Indoor Championships today, Friday, March 14, in Ames. Panorama will compete against 59 other teams at the event.

Cooper signs with Buena Vista University for football

Panorama football’s Joel Cooper signed with Buena Vista University on Thursday, March 13, to continue his education and football career. As a defensive tackle, Cooper finished last season ranked third on the team in total tackles with 32.5.
