Chargers start season with win at Madrid Conference meet

The ACGC girls golf team had the ideal start to its season at the Madrid Conference Meet at Woodward Golf Club on Monday, April 7. The girls won the competition, shooting 232 as a team. Rylee Robson was a medalist, shooting the best nine-hole score of the day with a 52. Allie DeWitt placed fifth, shooting a 58. Lucy Knutter placed seventh, shooting a 59. Ava Sneller placed ninth, shooting a 63. The girls next competition is hosted by Ogden at the Don Williams Golf Course on Monday, April 14. ACGC will compete against Ogden and Van Meter.

ACGC boys golf places 2nd at Madrid meet

The ACGC boys golf team teed off for the first time this season at the Madrid Conference Meet, played at Woodward Golf Club on Monday, April 7. The Chargers placed second, shooting 190. Pleasantville won the meet, shooting 158. Sayer Bireline-Huss and Casey Young had two top-10 performances at the meet. Bireline-Huss placed seventh, shooting a nine-hole 43, and Young placed eighth, shooting a nine-hole 47. Chase Slaybaugh placed 11th, shooting a 49, Kinnick Fraelich placed 12th, shooting a 51, Noah Kading placed 14th, shooting at 54, and Colin Stringham placed 17th, shooting a 55. The Chargers next competition will be on Monday, April 14, hosted by Ogden at the Don Williams Golf Course. ACGC will compete against Ogden and Van Meter.

Chargers to make a short trip for Panorama track and field meet

The ACGC boys and girls track teams travel to Panorama for a track meet today, Tuesday, April 8. The boys compete against Audubon, Central Decatur, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Exira-EHK, Glidden-Ralston, Greene County, Mounty Ayr, Nodaway Valley, Ogden, Panorama, West Central Valley, Woodbine and Woodward-Granger.

The girls compete against Audubon, Central Decatur, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Glidden-Ralston, Greene County, Madrid, Mounty Ayr, Nodaway Valley, Ogden, Panorama, West Central Valley, Woodbine and Woodward-Granger.

Deer Run meet postponed to April 28

The Panorama boys and girls golf squads were set to tee off their seasons at the Deer Run meet against Earlham, Interstate 35 and Van Meter on Monday, April 7, but the event was postponed due to weather until April 28. The girls next competition will be against ADM (0-1) at home on Thursday, April 10. The boys will travel to Webster City on Friday, April 11 to face Kuemper Catholic and Webster City.
