The ACGC softball team (1-4) secured a dramatic victory at home over No. 14 Ogden (5-5) on Monday, June 1. Ogden jumped out to an early lead, scoring three runs in the first inning. ACGC answered back with one. Ogden scored another run in the second inning, and ACGC responded with two runs, making it 4-3 after two innings. ACGC scored another run in the fourth to tie it up at 4-4. Ogden took the lead back in the sixth with one run, now 5-4. ACGC walked it off with two runs in the seventh for the win.

The girls head right back out to the field after securing their first win of the season when they travel to West Central Valley (2-0) tonight, Tuesday, June 2. WCV won all three games against ACGC last season, 14-0, 8-0 and 8-0.

The ACGC softball team (0-4) lost at Panorama (1-2) on Friday, May 22. Charger hits came from Olivia Mahaffey (2/3) who knocked in both of ACGC’s runs. Caydence Boals and Kailee Kautzky added one hit each. Kailee Kautzky would score both runs. Megan Underwood spent three innings on the mound, striking out one batter. Jerzee Huss pitched the final inning.

The ACGC baseball team (3-4) lost at home on Monday, June 1 to Ogden (4-3). Ogden took a three-run lead in the top of the third inning and would hold that lead until the end. ACGC made it close with the score being 3-2 after the fifth inning but could not complete the comeback.

ACGC had five hits in the game, three of which came from Cal Clark who went 3/3 with three singles. William Skram and Joseph Fagan had the other hits. Thomas Skram had the lone sacrifice RBI. Clark also started the game, pitching five innings and striking out six batters. Thomas Skram pitched the other two innings, striking out five.

The Chargers head back to the diamond at West Central Valley (2-5) tonight, Tuesday, June 2. ACGC and WCV split the season series last year, with ACGC winning one 5-4, and WCV winning 7-4.

After a string of games against tough opposition, the ACGC baseball team (3-3) returned to winning ways at Exira-EHK (0-1) on Friday, May 29. ACGC scored nine runs in the third inning to fuel the double-digit win. RBIs came from Cal Clark with five, Blaize Dorsey with three, Thomas Skram with two, and Colton Clark, Joseph Fagan, Roger Ochoa and Casen McCool with one each.

Multi-hit performances came from Dorsey (2/3), Chase Slaybaugh (2/3), Fagan (2/2) and Cal Clark (2/4). Slaybaugh had the start and earned the win, pitching three and one-third innings and striking out two batters. Sayer Bireline-Huss pitched the remaining one and two-thirds innings, striking out three batters.
