PANORAMA BOYS PLAY FOR DALLAS STARS. Four Panorama boys played on the South Dallas Stars All-Star team this season, including (from left) Avery Norman, Preston Walker, Cooper Andersen and Dominic Walker. Cory Norman, also from Panorama, was the head coach for the South Dallas All Stars. The team went 1-3 with their win over the Marshalltown All-Stars.

HISTORICAL GIFT. The Batschelet family has donated the 120-year-old Batschelet and Thompson law office in Guthrie Center to the Guthrie County Historical Village Foundation to be moved to the museum complex in Panora. Monday, Margaret Batschelet handed over the keys to Alex Krueger, Foundation president. FROGGER. Bring on the warts, says Leah Hutchins, 3, of Linden as she gets a firm grasp on a pet frog. The hopper was the girl’s Fourth of July playmate and showed signs of stress from the attention of his owner and the hot windy conditions. Leah is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave, Hutchins.

ONE MORE PINT. Linda Dorr, medical technician at Guthrie County Hospital, gives moral support to donor Juanita Smith of Guthrie Center. A crew of nurses from Des Moines drew the blood for the Guthrie County Hospital Blood Bank Club.
