Panorama students Brayden Meinecke and Gavin Lindstrom will be recognized by the Des Moines High School Hockey league for its Senior Sunday event at the MidAmerican Energy RecPlex in West Des Moines on Sunday, Feb. 1.
Panorama said in a social media post, “Lindstrom and Meinecke have played hockey for the Des Moines Rec Leagues since the sixth grade. A sport that started as roller hockey in the Meinecke basement, with their grandfather’s hockey gear, led to the boys begging to take ‘Learn to Skate Hockey’ lessons. Last year, they helped their team, The Des Moines Thunder, win the championship for the City League Tournament. Gavin was nominated to be the captain of the team this year. Lindstrom plays right wing, and Meinecke shines as a strong defenseman.”
