The Panora Public Library has many fun activities planned for the month of May. You can read about them below or visit panoralibrary.com for more information.
May 1-7:
- Friday, May 1 – LEGO Club, 2-3 p.m. for ages 6-11 years. Youth attending LEGO Club at the library can choose to participate in build challenges or informal builds of their own design. We will have both DUPLOs and LEGOs available. Please pre-register at the Library.
- Saturday, May 2 – Shredding truck, 10 a.m. to noon. Bring your old documents and paperwork that need to be disposed of securely. Pull up in the driveway north of library near the book drop. This is a free public service provided by generous donations made to the library.
- Wednesday, May 6 – Storytime for children five years and younger, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
- Thursday, May 7 – Kids Craft – Mother’s Day Fingerprint Craft, ages 6-11 years, 3:30-4:30 p.m. We’ll be crafting a unique Mother’s Day fingerprint card this month.
May 11-15
- Monday, May 11 – Kids BINGO for ages 6 – 11 years, 4-4:30 p.m.
- Thursday, May 14 – Card making class for adults, 2-3 p.m.
May 18-22
- Monday, May 18 – Library Board meeting, 6:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, May 19 – Evening card making class, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, May 20 – Storytime for children 5 years and younger, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
- Thursday, May 21 – Blast Off! into learning with ISU Extension, 4-5 p.m. Participants will discover what it’s like to be an astronaut and take on hands-on space challenges like building rockets and testing parachutes. This program is for kindergarten – third grade youth. Registration is required, as there is a minimum number of participants needed to offer this program at our library.
- Friday, May 22 – Page Turners Book Club, 9:30 a.m.
May 25-29
- Monday, May 25 – The Library will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.
- Tuesday, May 26 – Evening Card Making Class, 5:30 p.m.
Other news:
The Panora Garden Club Seed Library is open for the season and stocked with lots of new flower and vegetable seeds. Find it near the book drop north of the library. Please record your selections and donations, which are always welcome.
Are you, or is there someone you know who is, unable to get to the library due to illness, disability or special circumstances? Let the Panora Public Library deliver books, movies, audiobooks or magazines to your home. Home delivery service brings library materials to homebound residents and senior living facilities within Panora city limits.
