The Panorama baseball team (1-8) was able to mark the win column for the first time this season during a doubleheader at Earlham (3-8) on Friday, June 5.
Game 1, 3-2 W
Panorama was down in this game, 2-0, heading into the fifth inning. The Panthers scored three runs to take a narrow lead, which they would hold onto for the win. Hits came from Cruz Crandall, Brayden Meinecke, Brody Steenblock, Adrian Leone and Braden Bahrenfuss, all with singles. Meinecke had the lone RBI. Runs were scored by Crandall, Mason Meinecke and Bahrenfuss. Time on the bump was split between Nolan Sheehy who had five strikeouts, and Bahrenfuss who had three strikeouts and the win.
Game 2, 5-10 L
Earlham jumped out to an early 6-1 lead by the end of the first inning. Panorama would answer back with three runs in the second, bringing the score to 6-4, and another run in the fourth, making it 6-5, but that’s as close as they would get. Leone went a perfect 3/3 with singles. Mason Meinecke and Bahrenfuss joined him with multi-hit performances with two singles each. Jaxon Vogel added one single as well. Mason Meinecke with two strikeouts and Vogel with two strikeouts split time on the mound.
