The ACGC softball team (2-11) lost both games in a home doubleheader against No. 2 I-35 (11-3) on Thursday, June 11. ACGC scored all three of their runs in game one in the first inning before the I-35 charger. Trinity Calhoun had two RBI double. Caydence Boals had a sacrifice RBI to contribute. Jerzee Huss struck out one batter in three innings of work.
In game two, the score was much closer. ACGC scored one run in the sixth and one run in the seventh to stop the shutout. Huss and Tessa Slaybaugh had multi-hit performances, both with two singles. Megan Underwood had the team’s lone RBI. Underwood pitched all seven innings.
The next game for the Chargers is at Perry (0-12) tonight, Friday, June 12.
