Luminaria bags and candles are dedicated to those who have battled or are currently battling cancer during Relay For Life Luminaria ceremonies.

TEAMWORK. Guthrie Center’s baseball team worked with the city crew for the annual town cleanup Tuesday and Wednesday. Some heavy lifting was required. Placing a chest freezer on a trailer are from left, Mike Pearey, Tate Stetzel, Kent Rosenbeck and Logan Holloway.

METHODIST INTERN HERE UNTIL JULY 13. Erica Gundersen, a native of Des Moines, is working as an intern in the Panora, Linden and Prairie Center United Methodist churches under Pastor Mark Young. She was sent to Guthrie County through the Parish Experience Program, and she will be in Panora until July 13.

HAVE EGGS, WILL TRAVEL. A mother wren built a nest in the station wagon of Virginia Southwick, branch manager of the United Federal. Mrs. Southwick who commutes from Panora left the nest and brings the eggs to work daily. The mother wren checks the nest when the car returns home each afternoon.
