Guthrie County Deputy Sheriff Taylor Wheatley reported a car vs. deer accident occurring on June 27 at 5:05 a.m. Candy Giselle Palacios Garcia, 33, of Boone, was driving a 2021 Volkswagen Jetta S eastbound on Highway 44 before striking a deer when it entered the road from the south ditch. Estimated damage to the Jetta is $8,000. No citations were issued.
