Panora is bringing back the magic of an old-fashioned hometown Christmas.
The Panora Chamber of Commerce will kick off the holiday season with Panora’s Old-Fashioned Christmas, a community-wide celebration taking place from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14. The weekend will feature the lighting of the Christmas tree on the town square, a visit from Santa Claus, a craft show, holiday shopping specials, music and activities throughout the community.
The Panora Chamber of Commerce also encourages Panora businesses to be open during the hours of the festival and offer holiday-themed activities, treats, specials or experiences at their location. Service businesses are encouraged to participate, too.
Chamber members say the idea is to make the entire community part of the celebration and give people a reason to walk through the streets, visit the businesses, shop locally and enjoy the Christmas spirit together. Their hope is that Panora’s Old-Fashioned Christmas becomes an annual hometown tradition — one that brings our community together, encourages people to shop locally, and creates the kind of Christmas memories that last for generations.
