Guthrie County Chief Deputy Todd Thorn reported a two-vehicle accident occurring on Oct. 3 at 9:35 a.m. in Adair. Janet Kay Mueller, 78, of Adair, was driving a 2022 Buick Envision and stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of White Pole Road and Frontier Road. Mueller was pulling out of the intersection and failed to see Jimmy Eugene Scott, 81, of Guthrie Center, who was driving a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan westbound on While Pole Road. Mueller failed to yield to Scott and collided with the passenger side of his Dodge. The Dodge went into the west ditch but was able to drive out. Estimated damage to both vehicles is $3,500. Mueller was issued a citation for failing to obey the stop sign and yield to the vehicle with the right of way.
