The ACGC football team (5-1) suffered its first regular-season loss since 2022 last week, and the players took their frustrations out on Danville (5-1) on Friday, Oct. 2.
Will Skram threw one pass for 54 yards and a TD to Kinnick Froehlich. ACGC spread the wealth on the ground with five players scoring a rushing TD. Those who scored were Ryder Cline with 11 carries for 100 yards, Andrew Baumert with 11 carries for 84 yards, Morgun Nolte with seven carries for 73 yards, Lane Stringer with eight carries for 30 yards and Kinnick Froehlich with one carry for 23 yards. Skram led in carries with 12 for 63 yards but no score.
Ty Ganzer led in tackles with seven. Froehlich continued his big day with six tackles. Lane Stringer had one sack and an interception returned for a TD.
ACGC’s next game is on Friday, Oct. 9 against AHSTW (3-4). This will be the homecoming game for the Chargers. ACGC won last year’s matchup, 42-14. ACGC will also be celebrating the state championships won before their schools combined. They will honor the Guthrie Center Tigers 1996 championship and the Adair-Casey Bombers 2001 championship.
