Special to the Times Vedette
The Linden Public Library has a small operating budget, which makes renovations in the older building challenging. The city of Linden recently gave the library permission to expand the kid’s programs to the area once used for the fire department’s garage and maintenance. The Friends of the Library group applied for the Guthrie County Community Foundation Grant and was awarded $1,000. With this dollar amount, and matching funds from the Friends of the Library group, improvements were made that include new carpet, paint and blinds, as well as storage cabinets, tables and a kitchenette. The Linden Public Library now has a spacious and inviting space to welcome children to.
