ACGC wrestling wins 3 duals at Panorama quad

The ACGC boys wrestling team left Panorama with three dual wins on Thursday, Dec. 18. The Chargers played spoiler to Panorama’s senior night, winning their closest dual of the night, 39-30. ACGC won the other duals against Ogden, 48-15, and Southeast Valley, 54-30. ACGC was ranked 19th in the preseason Dual Team Rankings by the Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Asso. The next set of rankings are due tomorrow, Dec. 20.

ACGC returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 20 for the Tiger Invite at Carroll. ACGC will compete against Carroll, Council Bluffs Jefferson, Denison-Schleswig, Greene County, Kuemper Catholic, Manson-NW Webster, OABCIG, Pocahontas Area, Storm Lake and Westwood.

Chargers win 1, lose 2 at home quadrangular

The ACGC boys wrestling team competed in a home quadrangular meet on Tuesday, Dec. 16. ACGC picked up a 47-24 win over Pleasantville and lost duals to Earlham, 48-22, and Central Decatur, 51-27.

Panther boys lose to West Central Valley, 61-37

The Panorama boys basketball team (0-5) early-season skid continued with a loss to West Central Valley (3-1) on Friday, Dec. 12. Cruz Crandall led the Panthers in scoring with 12 points and in assists with three. Brayden Galvan and Jaxson Stauffer were active on the glass with seven rebounds each.

Panorama returns to the court tonight, Tuesday, Dec. 12 against Interstate 35 (3-3). Panorama lost its one game against I-35 last season, 49-33.

Panorama girls secure win over West Central Valley, 44-36

The Panorama girls basketball team (1-4) won its first game of the season over conference opponent at West Central Valley (1-4) on Friday, Dec. 12. Morgan Crees’ solid performance helped the Panthers win. She led the team in scoring with 18 points and had eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. Other solid performances came from Ruth Fett with seven points and five rebounds, and Ines Gimeno-Perez with six points, six rebounds and two steals.

Panorama will hope to build on the momentum against a solid Interstate 35 team (3-4) tonight, Tuesday, Dec. 16. Panorama has yet to lose a game to the Roadrunners, winning their one contest last year, 51-43.

Panther boys compete at Dan Christensen Invitational

The Panorama boys wrestling team earned several placements at the Dan Christensen Invitational in Central Decatur on Friday, Dec. 12. There were 16 other teams at the meet. Austin Wagner (150) earned the top place for Panorama. Wagner lost in the semi-finals, but bounced back in the consolation bracket, earning third-place by defeating Reese Nichols of Martensdale-St. Marys.

The Panthers’ next competition will be senior night and is a home quadrangular on Thursday, Dec. 18. The Panthers face Ogden, Southeast Valley and ACGC.

Recker wins title, Walker earns second at Saydel Invitational

The Panorama girls wrestling team competed at the 2025 Saydel Girls Invitational on Friday, Dec. 12. Three Panthers wrestled at the meet. Gracie Recker (155) won her weight class, defeating Glorious Fridley of Southeast Warren in the final. Emma Walker (170) lost in the championship match to Payton Traynor of Johnston to earn second. Petersen did not place.

The girls are back in action on Friday, Dec. 19 to compete in the Tiger Invite. Other teams at the tournament will be host Carroll, Pocahontas Area, Baxter, Sioux City East, East Sac County, Kuemper Catholic and Sioux Central.
