Panther football faces Ogden tonight

The Panorama football team (1-5) plays tonight, Friday, Oct. 10, at Ogden (3-3). Panorama has won its last four games against Ogden but has not faced the Bulldogs since its 40-24 win in 2017. The Bulldogs appear to enjoy spreading the ball around. CeJay Jones at quarterback has 643 yards passing and three TDs. Cayden Dudley leads the backfield with 472 yards rushing and six TDs. Weston Sundell is their leading receiver with 311 yards and three TDs. Panorama’s Cruz Crandall leads the Panthers through the air with 840 yards passing and 10 TDs. Austin Wagner is the bell-cow back with 83 carries for 244 yards. Reed Draper and Latyn Ashworth have been Crandall’s’ favorite targets. Draper has 31 catches for 402 yards for five TDs. Ashworth has 22 grabs for 345 yards and five TDs.

Panthers compete at Jim Klein Invite; girls place 5th, boys 11th

The Panorama boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Jim Klein Invitational on Thursday, Oct. 10. In the boys race, Lynnville-Sully won the meet with 74 points. Panorama placed 11th with 248 points. Bladyn Wearmouth ran the best race for the Panther boys, placing 35th in 19:37.

On the girls side, the Panthers placed fifth with 132 points. West Marshall State Center won the meet with 59 points. Kylie Rochholz ran the best time for the Panthers, placing 18th in 21:50.53. Laicey Lutz was close behind, placing 25thin 22:36.11.

The next meet for the boys and girls is the West Central Activities Conference meet on Thursday, Oct. 16, hosted by ACGC. The Panthers will race against ACGC, Des Moines Christian, Earlham, Interstate 35, Madrid, Ogden, Pleasantville, Van Meter, West Central Valley and Woodward-Granger.

No. 3 ACGC travels to AHSTW tonight

The No. 3 ACGC football team (6-0) plays at AHSTW (3-3) on Friday, Oct. 10. The Vikings have won all four games between the schools, with the most recent game being played in 2017, a 36-0 win for AHSTW. ACGC will look to continue beating teams with its potent rushing attack. The Vikings senior running back, Drew Lee, appears to be their most dangerous weapon. Lee has 523 rushing yards and nine total touchdowns.

ACGC volleyball sweeps Ogden on senior night, 3-0; Largent records 1,000th kill

The ACGC girls volleyball team (15-6) defeated Ogden (15-12) in straight sets at home on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Despite the sweep, each set was close. ACGC won the sets 25-20, 25-18 and 26-24. Becca Littler had a game-high 41 assists. Stella Largent was on the receiving end of most of them, with 21 kills. Those kills helped her reach the career milestone of 1,000 kills. Camdyn Richter also got in on the party with 14 kills. The Chargers were flying on defense with three players recording double-digit digs. Ilana Baumert led with 12, Largent had 11, and Richter had 10. Baumert also led the team in aces with three.

ACGC competes at the CAM Tournament this Saturday, Oct. 11. The other teams in action at the tournament will be Atlantic, CAM, Fremont-Mills, Riverside and Sidney.

ACGC boys and girls cross country compete at Jim Klein Invite; Kent places 6th

The ACGC boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Jim Klein Invitational at South Hamilton on Thursday, Oct. 9. The boys team placed 12th overall with 248 points. Lynnville-Silly won the meet with 74 points. Preston Kent led the Chargers with a sixth-place finish in 17:43. Head Coach Rick Blake gave a shoutout to Stetson Ellis, who set a new personal best, breaking 22:00 for the first time.

For the girls race, ACGC placed ninth as a team with 225 points. West Marshall State Center won the meet with 59 points. Brooklyn Schafer led ACGC, placing 28th in 22:53. This was a new personal best for her. Kennedy Reinhart also set her personal best at the meet, beating her previous time by more than a minute.

The next meet for both squads is the West Central Activities Conference Meet on Thursday, Oct. 16. ACGC will host, welcoming in Des Moines Christian, Earlham, Interstate 35, Madrid, Ogden, Panorama, Pleasantville, Van Meter, West Central Valley and Woodward-Granger.

The next meet for the Panorama cross country team is the 2025 Jim Klein Cross Country Invitational hosted by South Hamilton on Thursday, Oct. 9. The other teams competing are ACGC, BCLUW, Collins-Maxwell, Colo-Nesco, Eagle Grove, East Marshall, Lynnville-Sully, Madrid, Meskwaki Settlement, Newman Catholic, Ogden, Roland-Story, South Hamilton and West Marshall.
