The Community Children’s Christmas Program, organized by volunteers and featuring schoolchildren ages 4 to 18, marks its fifth year in 2026. This year’s program will be presented Sunday, Dec. 6, at the Panora Church of the Brethren. It begins at 6:30 p.m.
About 20 children participate each year, and all school-age children are welcome to participate. No sign-up is required; children may simply attend the first rehearsal.
There will be six rehearsals, with the first one Sunday, Oct. 25. All rehearsals will be held on Sundays from 5-6:15 p.m. There also will be a dress rehearsal immediately before the Dec. 6 performance.
The theme for the 2026 program is “Rockin’ Around the Manger Scene.”
Admission is free. A soup supper will be served 5:15-6:15 p.m. before the performance with a freewill offering going to New Opportunities.
Volunteers plan to decorate the church Nov. 30. Those interested in helping, or who have questions, should contact Gloria Ahrendsen at 515-371-9998 or glorialynna@gmail.com.
