During the Oct. 13 meeting of the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors, County Auditor Dani Fink presented her Fiscal Year 2027 first quarter financial report.
“I will just expand on this, as far as revenues go,” Fink said, adding that she encourages the supervisors to request any further detail needed involving revenues and/or expenses. Fink explained that she can easily “drill down” for more detail on any areas of interest.
“I feel like this first quarter is, there’s not much to go into, really, but I just wanted to talk about set up,” she said.
Fink noted that it is not realistic to simply assume that the year-to-date trends will continue, especially regarding revenues.
“This is through Sept. 30. A large part of revenues is property taxes, so that doesn’t equate out,” Fink said. “So, as of Sept. 30, 49% of property taxes have been collected.”
The supervisors voted to cancel the regular meeting on Nov. 3 due to Election Day.
Next, the supervisors reviewed a possible extension of the county’s Comprehensive Plan.
“It’s just an extension; it isn’t adding any dollars. It isn’t changing anything,” Board Chair Steve Smith said.
The supervisors unanimously approved the extension.
In the Supervisors’ Update portion of the meeting, Supervisor Brian Johnson encouraged all eligible citizens to vote in the upcoming election.
“I encourage people to vote. They start tomorrow. There’s been a lot to tear down or question voting integrity, but we have probably the best voting system in the world,” he said. “It’s very secure.”
The supervisors meet regularly on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. The public is welcome to attend in person at the courthouse or via remote technology. To join remotely, call 323-792-6123, then use meeting code 547029216#
