The first Guthrie Center farmers market of the year went off smoothly –– at first. The event was scheduled 9-11 a.m., but around 9:45, the sky darkened as a line of rain rolled in. Vendors quickly packed up and are hoping for sunny weather at the next event, scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 9-11 a.m. on North Fourth Street in Guthrie Center.

Guthrie Center Fire Department was on hand to recruit members.

Visitors could check out an ambulance and sheriff’s squad cars.

Toasted Bakery’s homemade breads were popular items.

Hannah Rae’s Home Goods offered fresh-scented items.
